Default Back plates

Just had the rear brakes stipped down to find out why the handbrake was binding. It appears that the back plates on both sides are corroded which is affecting discs, shoes and pads. This is on a 5 year old WRX. Does anyone happen to know if this would be covered by Subaru?

Thanks

After 5 years? You MUST be joking. They don't evem want to cover the latest problems on the hatches that ARE down to them, wriggling every which way, disgusting.

Strip it down, wire brush and repaint with hammerite.
