As the tile suggests my P1 is going in for warranty brake replacement. has anyone managed to get money off the upgrade (alcons) instead of taking the rubbish that was on being replaced?

Have you asked the dealer? If Subaru have already accepted that there is a valid warranty claim then I would ask them. If the dealer says know, ask them for a a contact at IM that you can talk to direct, you've nothing to lose.

IM will be giving the dealer a warranty credit for the work they would have to do to fix the brakes, so no sensible reason why this credit couldn't go against the cost to upgrade the brakes.
