Default Choice of brake kit for GC8 Turbo

Hi guys,

I own a subaru impreza GT MY00 and I want to change my brakes with something better.

Current choices are:

Gold STI new age Brembos - afraid to choose these as I have heard of fade and knockback effects which are rather scary

AP Racing - 4 piston

D2 - 6 piston

TAROX - 6 piston

Willwood - 6 piston

My scooby is a daily driven car (90% of the time). The other 10% belongs to track days and a bit of drag racing. What brake kit to choose and why?

I have Brembo's on my MY00, have yet to track it, but the main reason I wouldn't go for them is the lack of 17" wheels that fit over them. So that would be an issue if you wanted to buy cheap 17"s for track days.
I WISH I got AP's instead. They go under practically all 17's and even some 16's.
Probably the dearest on the list though.

Forgot to add that I have the 17"x7.5 OEM STI new age wheels fitted so I have no problem with clearances.

Maybe not now. But if you do plan to track it, and don't want to kill your road tyres. Its nice to know you can throw a cheap set of alloys on. Even the alloys you have now are not as cheap as they should be, due to them clearing Brembo's.

But I'm pretty sure you'll only get that issue with Brembo's, out of the whole lot on your list. And you have kind of talked yourself out of them anyway.

I have made an agreement with a local shop and whenever we have trackdays, I change the tyres on the same rims without paying much.

But what is the best brake kit to do everything with my scooby and still maintain a good bite after hard braking?
