Question Newage WRX and STi Tyre Sizes?

I have a 04 WRX with the standard alloys.

My question is does the 225 45 R17 size tyre fit on the standard WRX alloy wheels and what is there any advange noticed if any of fitting 225 over 215

I have looked at the original brochures and it appears that the correct size tryes fitted for a 2004 new age is;
WRX 215 45 R17
STi 225 45 R17

From quickly searching it appears most people that have 17" wheels have 225 width and it appears 225 is more readilly available.

"KojaK" did it and claimed better wet weather grip....

P.S. A slightly larger tyre will slow your acceleration a tiny bit....
