Shims are to reduce noise so you can do without if you don't mind the possible squeal. If you do want them Alyn at ASPerformance might be able to help. Copper grease can be bought at any motor parts shop/Halfords, better still is the new cera-tec grease made by Mintex which you can mail order from Camskill.
