I'm looking for some new pads for my AP 6 pots. They came with the PAGID pads, but are there any alternatives?
Priorities are
Good Wear rate(pad and disk)
Good cold temperature performance
Little dust

I think the pagids are around 240 quid, but anyone know of any cheaper or better alternatives and where I'd get them from?

Thanks

Neil,

I'd recommend trying the DS2500 pads. Should be about half the price of the Pagids. They aren't low dust, but the dust washes off very easily.

Thanks John

Are there No issues with these pads causing the bake on hard to remove dust that the P1 upgraded brakes used to have? I think they were DS3000 pads though.

Do they also eat disks and whats the wear rate like?

Who would you recommend I get the pads from?

Hi Neil. If yours is an official APR kit, the pads you've got are Pagid RS421, and yes, they are mega-expensive. I've got them, and rate them very highly for both road and track.

I also have a set of DS2500 to try next, which I am told are as good as/very similar to the RS421, but half the price. If you like your Pagids, the DS2500 is probably for you. Feedback from others on here is that they are disc/wheel friendly. For fast road only, DS2000 are very good.

Remember that the 6-pot pads for Scoobs is 17mm thick, not the standard 18mm. Don't have the part number to hand, but an official APR dealer should get it right.

Richard.

Neil, I found the cost between the Pagids and DS2500's not that much. I think from memory I can get the RS421's for about £180 and the DS2500's for about £140. I found both pads to be good. More dust from the RS421's, yet more wear out of the DS2500's. At the end of the day, you and you along will make your mind up as to which to go for.

No. Obsolutely silent in normal driving. Make a lovely but quiet humming sound when you push them very hard from high speed (grooved discs BTW).
