Default PPP.

Can someone please tell me why prodrive recommend 18in wheels when you have ppp fitted. Is there any proformance difference with 18s on the car.

The wider rubber's meant to give better traction and put the power down better. Haven't got PPP but got 18" alloys and have to say they sharpen up the feel of the car nicely (although the different make of tyres on the 18s could also be a factor).

As far as i know it was said to benefit the extra torque.

Maybe they are thinking you will upgrade the brakes to brembos? I kept the 17" wheels but went for slightly bigger tyres 225/45/17. Seems to work OK.

It's to make Prodrive even richer....

most tyres are the same width anyway, so all you do is reduce the sidewall which slightly sharpens the steering response.

IMHO

I use both 17" and 18" wheels on my track scoob. Can't say I notice any difference as different tyres have much more effect.
