WRX standard brakes need uprating
I took my WRX hawkeye PPP to Snetterton for a track day. By the end of the first lap my standard WRX brakes were fading badly. What would be the best solution to improve braking without changing the standard 17inch wheels?

How much do you want to spend?
Best bet really is to look at the group buy on the k sport at 699 for the 330mm/8pot setup, or for slightly more look at the Godspeed AP 330mm kits, or do you just want to change the discs/pads/hoses? (just dont go drilled if your doing track days)

Thanks for your responses. If I keep the original calipers but go for new pads and discs what are best? I bought some yellow ebc pads but they aren't very good for everyday driving. By comparison my wife has a standard peugeot 308 xsi and the brakes on that would launch you through the windscreen!

I am hoping that the Godspeed group buy on grooved discs (last day think today??£59) along with a set of Ferodo DS2500 will improve my brakes - more affordable option for me than conversion or K-sport(if had money would go for this in a second!) . Been told by a few "in the know" that this will be a noticeable improvement.
I should note though that I have no plans to track my car on this set up.

I run Godspeed grooved discs and EBC yellow stuff pads on the front, with braided hoses all round and have purchased a set for the rear too in the recent group buy as I've been impressed with the value for money on their goods - Ian's a top bloke and gets the items out the door very quick too. I ran Ferodo DS2500 pads before but didn't find them as good as the Yellow stuffs.
Since moving to this setup braking is much better, much sharper and responsive, and because of the grooves I don't get much in the way of fade at all - the only weak link is my brake fluid, as I haven't moved to DOT 5 yet, but it's still not bad.

Ian's grooved discs are excellent- I have warped discs on every car I have owned, and these survived two track days, one day of which was a very twisty track, where you ended up with no brakes at all, and discs are fine!
I rate yellowstuff for the track, but I would say you can get bad batches of them too- mine are fine but some people went through a set in a day.
I moved to Brembo's- I was staggered how rubbish the standard brakes are- even with decent pads they are too small and fade quickly.
Ian will sort you out- I have the 330mm setup on 17's

The discs we supply come with a 12 month warranty against cracking or warping (and we sell lots to SN members), but for track use I would recommend better calipers than your OEM 4 pots.
You won't go wrong with a genuine all AP kit, not the cheapest, but work very well.
