Default Knocking Pads

Since putting my new pads on, which stop great, any time when I reverse, then brake with knocks/clunks, then when I drive forward and brake, it does the same.

What is the solution to stop this?

Also, recently the rears have started to sound like they're grinding, even though they've only done about 5000 miles (no track). Except for them being prematurely worn, what else could be causing the grinding? I have been able to check them due to the ****e weather recently!

Pads are Performance Friction Z-Rated front and rear. The rear discs are from BOB and are OE spec ones. The front discs are grooved Godspeed ones.

Cheers

mine does the same bud on occasions. i will keep watching this thread but i think it is something to do with the metal "plate" that the pad sits in.

That my friend is a "feature" of the PF rear pads.
Don't worry about it.
It is slightly annoying, but no more than that.
I am guessing they are slightly less wide than the OE pad.
How do you find the PF pads? Once they get up to temp

Oh right, no shims or anything I could buy to put in maybe?

I think the PF are fantastic! Especially with braided hoses. My friend drove my car, who is use to AP 8/6 pots, and said they stopped as well as them!!

No. I don't think shims are the answer..
You only get it when you brake in the opposite direction from previously, so usually when reversing and then again on first application when going forwards.
Like I say, it's a feature.
When any one hears it, they will be green with envy at your setup
