Default Godspeed 335mm problems

Has anyone had problems with the 335mm Godspeed kit? Mine appears to have a mild vibration/ hum under high speed braking and squeals at low speeds. Also there is a 2mm lip on the pad where it doesn't make contact with the discs outer edge. I have e mailed Godspeed but have had no reply

Hi Tim, I have not long fitted this kit and also experienced the same symptoms you have, after asking around I found that the squeaking is a trademark of the ferodo pads and nothing to worry about. I presume the hum/drone noise you get is when you're braking from 100+ (on a track of course ) I also experienced this at a couple of recent track days and was later told this is common with grooved discs. As for the lip on the pads that will happen, the pads are not a subaru fitment but modified jaguar / aston martin pads. These pads are the same length but wider than the standard wrx pads to get the extra disc coverage due to using the standard calipers.

The first time I heard the drone noise I thought they were faulty but am quite happy with them now, they are'nt going to be a replacement for AP 6 pots but are better than the standard brakes IMO

Hope this helps
Iain

Cheers for that. The vibration can occur from anything above 60 mph to be honest. Oh well as long as it stops

Hi
What you fitted them did you clean off the rust on the hub so the disc sits perfectly ? and were all the pistons free and not sticky at all , these two items can give problems your experiencing.

You can get a slight humming noise with grooved discs and performance pads as mentioned about , go out and give them a hiding to see if it's pad deposits , if it is it should clear up , if not they are covered under our 12 month guarantee

You email got caught up in my spam filter sorry , if you want to speak to me ring me on 01656 723060

Hope this helps
