Default Brembos as standard??

Can anyone tell me if the 1997 WRX STi (Jap import model) has 4 pot brembos as standard? I have heard that even though the calipers are stamped SUBARU, they are in fact Brembos....

If this is the case, has anyone got any suggestions for alloys to clear them?

Any help would be much appreciated.

They won't be Brembo calipers.

Most wheels from 16" upwards will fit.

Brembos are quite wheel fussy and require 17" min.

Thanks for that matey, good to know.

They are big brake versions tho right? Definately 4 pot calipers... Do I still have to be choosy about the clearance with alloys, because a lot of wheels say things like "Will fit classic impreza (not sti)" ? Which just confuses me further!

What size are the discs? 290mm will be standard. 330mm will be uprated.
Standard 4 pots from 1997 onwards.
See the pics.
