98 should have 4 pots on the front, so getting 2 pots would be a backward step.

Obviously I know the 2pots have to be impreza! What I mean is that are there different ones for different classic years? It isn't a backward step either. I don't have the funds for 4pots and need brakes now!!!

Think all classic turbo 2 pots are the same. With 277mm discs. Think some of the non turbo cars had 260mm discs so not sure about calipers. 4 Pots are my99 or newer unless sti.

Two different types of 2 pots, pre 98 and post 98 iirc.

Pad fitment is different, but discs are the same: AZTEC PERFORMANCE ONLINE STORE - WHOLESALE PRICES DIRECT TO THE PUBLIC - Brakes :: Subaru Impreza :: OE Brake Discs & Pads :: Front Discs & Pads :: High Quality (OEM Spec) Brake Discs Subaru Impreza Turbo - 1993 to 1998 - 277mm x 24mm (vented) FRONT

Fitment should be the same though.
