Default Help (Noisy Brakes STi 8)

Please Help,

This is driving me nuts!!

Cut a long story short, Rear brakes needed replacing on the car (03 Plate UK STi 8) Could have gone the Subaru route, but at £249 per disk and pads not far behind, just couldnt get the piggy bank to stretch that far.

Found some EBC Replacements, got em fitted. Job done.

Well so I thought, now when right hand cornering all I can hear is this noise which sounds like metal on metal. Any suggestions? Thought it could be the disks rubbing on the back plate, but seems to be plenty of room and I cant see any marks where the disk would have rubbed against it? Pads? Dunno seem okay. The right had side is fine, its only on the left.

Tried applying brakes when going round roundabouts and noise seems to be still there too.

Anyone experienced anything similar?

Ta

Wheel bearing? maybe just a coincidence with the brake change. Has to be something that moves when turning right and it is difficult to imagine anything in the brake itself doing this.

I have had this, 03sti. Did 3 very hard stops from 60mph and the noise has never come back, assumed it was a lip on the disc.

it sounds as though you have bent the backplate changing them and the discs is rubbing on it , done it myself years ago , now I check them everytime , if you have a look you will see where its rubbing , just bend that bit away from the disc slightly
Cheers Ian
