Default Need pads for Brembo (MY05 STI)

Hi Guys.
It's my first post here. I need to buy front pads and wanted just ask you about posibilities.
I know just ferodo DS 2500(have them in the rear) but someone told me i could buy EBC Yellowstuff which are so good like the ferodo's and circa 60 quid cheaper. Is that true??
Anyway, i just need good pads for my STI.
Thanks for your answers!!

I have spoken to someone about pads and now i know that for that price(circa 160 quid) could i have better pads then the ds 2500...
Maybe someone could write more details for me.Thanks.

Your best bet would be Performance Friction pads.

Z Compound for fast road and occasional track or 01 Compound for track.

Performance Friction pads are indeed very good but you may also want to look into the Pagid range, either RS4-2, RS4-2-1 or the new RS4-4.
I've tried the PF Z's and the RS42's & RS4-2-1. All very good with little if anything to separate them and I don't think you would be unhappy with any of them. I prefer the RS42's from the Pagid range personally but that's just me.
Give Alyn a call at AS Performance - Rally Motorsport Specialists for the Pagid range.

Some info on the Pagid compounds can be found below...

Whatever you do, try to research a set that won't knock.

I got EBC redstuff in my 05 STI and they drive me crazy.

Yeah, fair enough.
I don't think the pad's are that bad to be honest, but they knock like hell.

Everyone has their favourite - bit like tyres I suppose.
You love PF, others won't - I myself don't know?
All I want is a pad that doesn't need a great amount of heat before it starts to work - unlike the EBC red
Its not allowed to knock
Won't fade too much
Wont wear out after 4,000 miles.

I used EBC Reds some 4 years ago. They didn't last very long at all. YellowR are better.

PF Z Compound would be my first preference with the Brembo calipers as they really are superb.

Thanks guys!!

I have also asked in an another Forum(abroad) about Pagid and Ferodo DS3000 but many poeple told me that those are probably too hard for my OE discs and DS 2500 would be perfect(best compromise for good braking and OE discs)
What you think about that??
Am i realy supposed to prefer those PF Z Compound then the Ferodo DS2500...??

PF Z rated - awesome pads and the only choice IMO.

Great on the road - quiet, immediately work - dont need warming up
Great on the track - never faded on me.
Great at the ring

Lasted 18,000 a set for me
