Hi - just a quick one.
Had my MY97 WRX setup at Micheldever monday and have a couplequestions.Should it be possible to get the prodrive spec front camber settings on my car? - I asked for -1.3deg (prodrive) but the guy doing it (who wasn't the normal geometry guy) said he couldn't get that much. Mentioned something about the strut type(?) and that couldn't physically move wheel more. The end result was Left -1.08 Right -0.93 I also asked if it was possible to get more even than that..(I knowthe diff between 1.08 and 0.93 isn't that much!) He said no - is that fair enough? I understand it would be easier to get more -camber with a slightly smaller hi-tensile strut to hub bolt but didnt really want to do this.
opinions appreciated!

cheers,Matt.

Matt,
When I took my car there, they got the -camber matched, theye are supposed to find out what the max they can get ion either side is, and then put both sides to that, I was about to take my car back again, but maybe I won't!

Ron is right, they should match both sides up, if he can't get 1.08 on both sides, he should set both sides to 0.93.

Thumbs up

Thanks for the replies guys... I did think that they should be
able to get more even. As I said the guy doing it admitted the usual geometry setup guy was ill or off or something and I did get the feeling that he was 100% knowledgeable/experienced in what he
was doing. He took ages to do it aswell. I got there at 8:05, he
started work at 8:15 and finished at 9.30 !! didnt think it should
take that long?
Will phoned them up and have a word.. especially as paid £48 all in to have done.
Bit of a pain going back though as live near Guildford so a 45 min journey spose there's bugger all chance of them giving me the
petrol money to come back..but I will ask...

have to say been to Micheldever a few times before for tyres and once for an alignment and seemed professional and efficient.

anymore opinions?

cheers
Matt.

Question

So they should def be able to get pretty much exactly the same on both sides?
never watched them do it...but as i understood it the procedure is
wheel off, adjust, wheel on, measure. ?? if this is the case how do they ever get accurate? sounds like a real pain! can they adjust (the strut to hub bolt) with the wheel on??

cheers again
Matt
