Default Advan 048's??

Anyone used the Advan 048 tyres?

Just my mate has recently got a car with them on, but hasn't heard much about them. Are they a lot softer than R888's?

Yeah, they're Yokohama Advan A048.

He nor me has heard much about them, so wondered if anyone on here has had much experience of them?

Thanks

They are very good, OE on Exiges etc. Not sure how they fare on heavier cars but there are different compounds etc

Have a set on my scoob that I use for track days. Only tried them on the road once (the tread is a little thin, more so after some over enthusiastic cornering at Cadwell park!) and they felt too hard and picked up too many stones (which kept rattling around the wheel arches). However on the track the firmness of the sidewall, ease to get them up to temperature and soft compound make them great.

they are so much better than r888s, they are a harder compound so dont melt like r888 on the track when warm i think they are the best road legal tyre available.

thats my opinion anyway
