Torque settings?

Torque settings?
I have bought a new set of EBC Red Stuff pads today and I'm pretty sure I can fit them myself. I've read a very good step by step guide on this site but it mentions to be careful with Torque settings when re-fitting. I presume this is to avoid over tightening?
I figure a cheap Torque Wrench from Halfords will be cheaper than my local garage fitting them?
Can anyone tell me if these pads any good?
P.S car Is 2004 WRX ( think I've caught the 'modding' bug!)

There aren't any torque settings for brake pads, if you can do a search on here ( I can't !) you just need a rough idea of the how to, and a few simple tools.
pliers to remove split pins, drill bit to drift out the pad retaining pins, hammer to persuade the former to move (!) and a large screw driver to lever the old pads away from the disc.... push the pistons back into the caliper.... and replace !

TBH if you think you need a tourqe wrench for this simple job take it to the garage a search will get you the info you need. put it this way it take longer to jack the car up and take the wheel off than to change the pads.
i have EBC red ceramic on at the moment there ok but i prefer mintex 1155's

I had another look at the guide and I think the torque settings were for when you remove/re-fit the whole caliper. I'm pretty sure this is not necessary just to change pads.
Many thanks, will be back soon with more questions I'm sure!

Have fitted the pads today and you were all right - piece of cake! And a good sense of achievement knowing that I saved at least 50 quid by doing them myself. Once again many thanks.
By the way the pads are awesome! probably a 50% increase in stopping power over the standard ones! would highly recommend.
