RSB,

I live nearby and want to do the same to my STi V5. I have bought the paint and caliper cleaner from Halfords but haven't got round to doing it yet...

I am also concerned that if it isn't done properly it will look tack! I have seen it done on here before and it looked wicked

Any advice anyone??

Thumbs up

Did mine with the Halford's red brake caliper paint. Didn't use the cleaner just gave them a wire brush and a wee rub with medium grade wet & dry paper. Did them (front only) while still fitted to the car - two coats, small paint brush, lots of patience, looks okay to me.

Sorry No pics!

Guys its really easy

At the end of the day you only have to paint the areas of the calliper that will be seen once the wheel is on. Put car on axel stands, turn wheel so that its as close to full lock as possible, Remove the wheel, remove any dirt from the callipers with brake cleaner and a wire brush. Once dry and clean using a smallish brush apply heat resistant engine paint found at most auto suppliers. Take care with the Subaru lettering. You should easily perform the task in a morning. I have done this on two cars so far with no problem and I have very very very little mechanical knowledge.

Cheers

Neal

Neil,

I see the light at the end of the tunnel! One of those things you put off and once done, balk at the pre-match nerves
