Default What offset for classic?

Hi there, I'm looking for opinions on fitting new wheels to a classic STi, from what I can tell, you want 50-53mm offset, otherwise you can cause wheel bearing damage, does the increased width to 7.5" have any effect on this?

I'm looking at some wheels, but their offset is 42, I thought this might be too low, since 48-49 seems to be the lowest people suggest.

So any input is much appreciated, thanks.

I have 7.5 x 17's ET 48

The fit is great no rubbing or ill effects.

Ok, I've done some calculations, and they put the wheels I'm interested in, OZ Ultraleggeras 17x7.5 ET42 at 3mm less inner clearance than the standard 16x6.5 ET52 (I think) wheels, I'm not sure if that changes anything.

I'm having a problem finding out what wheels to get, pretty much every detailed post I read has a different take on the whole thing.

Thanks

Edit: Ok, I've found some 17X7.5 ET48 wheels, from what I can gather, that's pretty much the perfect offset for 7.5"?
