Red face Split braided hose..

Used Mrs spec'C's MY99 classic on friday evening, while approaching a roundabout VERY conservatively as was still warming the car up. The peddle dropped to the floor. altho when i tried again it slowed me enough to carefully continue the journey home by the time i was home the dash light was on so i knew it had to be a leak of some sort. topped the fluid up and pumped the peddle a few times then a look underneath showed a rather large loss from the passenger side, so jacked the car up and removed the wheel to find the braided hose (unsure if goodridge or not TBH) had split. Weekends plans ruined as we using the car this weekend so alternate travel sorted eventually.

Now the main reason for the post. Which/are they diiferent braided hoses for AP 6 pots? Need some Asap...

No they will use a hose kit for the standard Impreza , as they are the same fit , if its a Goodrich hose kit , they come with a lifetime gaurantee

Pleased you're not out of pocket but sorry to say it but it doesn't seem too important whether you got a refund or not. I'm more interested to know why it failed and if mine are likely to do the same thing.

Did they give you any feedback? Did it fail in the middle (pipe failure) or at a fitting (could be an assembly problem)?

It failed at the fitting to car, looked like the braiding had pulled out/frayed then caused the pipe to split. They eventually said the verdict was Inconclusive so would refund. Have a pic at home will fire it up when sky finally sort our home B/B.
