The standard dealer ones I used to have until a few weeks ago had three round pins in the key. Do your locking nuts have three corresponding holes in the nut itself?
I am in Swindon also if you want to try my old key on the off chance it works.

The newer Audi's A2/VW Golfs use a basic serated locking wheel nut like you describe. Not sure on nut size though but it might be right. Worth a try any how.
Failing that, type in 'locking wheel nut removal' in Ebay. There is a socket type tool that works pretty well with certain types of wheel nut.

Or hammer a socket over them and remove that way.
The reverse thread removal sockets on ebay need an impact wrench to apply them.
Newer cars have McGard locking wheel nuts now.
