Question

Are there any off-set issues with fitting MY01 alloys to a MY99 ?
How does the weight of the MY01 alloy compare to MY99 alloy ?

Hi Pete

No offset issues AFAIK - but the tyre is the wrong size for the pre MY01 car. I think its 215 45 17 and needs to be 215 40 17 or 205 45 17.
Don't know about the weight.

Cheers
Neil

The 215/45/17 fitted to the MY01 is only 2% larger than the 215/40/17 that most people fit to the <MY00.

In Japan the MY01 is fitted with the same 205/50/16 as the <MY00.

So it doesn't look like Subaru are too concerned with slightly different sizes!

Can't comment on MY99, but they fit nicely on MY94 Wagons

Just check the nuts! and I'm serious here! have a look at my thread here to see what i mean. Apart from this, no probs with them so far

Thats weird re your brakes

To be honest mate although I'd love some AP or Brembo 4/6 pots I think I would never really get the use out of them on the road for the money they cost (and I don't do track days).

Before I got the EBC stuff I'd been in touch with Ian Godney at Godspeed (Godspeed Brakes Here!!) and his set up seems very good indeed and there are a lot of happy customers on the board. He does a big disc upgrade with whatever pads you wish - although he will recommend some of course - basically it retains the existing subaru 4 pot calipers but with a spacer so that you can fit in 330mm discs. The discs are actually discs and bells so very little chance of them warping and perhaps slightly cheaper to replace when needed. This kit is about 550 quid so significantly cheaper than the big names
And from the pics I've seen it looks pretty good too
