Price differance????

Default Price differance????

Getting really annoyed at the fact that i am trying to get a 4 pot caliper conversion for my classic and no one seems to want to do a good deal apart from the people who hav'nt got the parts in stock. The ones that have got the parts seem to want silly money.

E.g Ian at Godspeed can do me calipers, discs and pads for £310 delivered but has'nt got any calipers

Local motorfactors same deal as Godspeed but £242 and got no calipers

Scoobyclinic got calipers but with second hand discs £411 and thats if i fit them myself or £470 fitted.

End result my Scooby sat on the drive looking very sorry for itself while the sun is shining and me stuck on here trying to find some brakes

Serious thinking of getting rid and going back to the old RS fords never had this problem with my RST.

I guess you are after the Subaru 4 pot calipers, discs and pads?

Ebay might kick up something but again, I've seen this type of caliper go for silly money really unless refurbed.

No good to you but I'm currently taking off mine and fit Brembo's. I'm hoping to have the brakes swapped this weekend once the calipers are dry.

my local factor does ADL Blueprint disc's for £52, so i would try one of your loacl ones if i where you, the calipers have you tried RCM, they usually have them about.

When you say removing yours i take it you mean your 4 pots if so do you want to sell them??????

Getting sick of phoning people only to be told that they cannot get them or the ones that can get them wanting a small fortune for them. Sad i know but i am seriously thinking of getting rid of the car over this its a joke. Only car i've had were parts are this hard to get

I've PM'd you but basically, the calipers are a good upgrade before spending mega bucks on big brake set ups. Coupled with decent pads, they can be a competant brake system.

Because of this, the calipers are in demand. Demand dictates the price unfortunately, who would sell the calipers dirt cheap if they new they could get more. I agree that the difference in price is significant between traders but it may be down to refurbishment and/or the profit margin required.

Stick with it though, there are a few on Ebay at the moment, refurbishment requirements may remain a mystery until they are in your hands though.

A stop gap may be better discs and pads for your oe set up, but then this will be 'dead money' as you're unlikely to get anything for them resale when you do upgrade.

have got a set of 2006 red WRX calipers, discs and pads available after an upgrade if your interested...............

I take it you've tried breakers for calipers? GradeA, Essex Subaru, Midland Subaru are just a few that could help........

Just tried a load of breakers and to be honest these guys are worse than the rest some of them wanted £400+VAT for a pair of second hand calipers.

Getting fed up of looking now to be honest think i'm just gonna free up the 2 pot one thats on the car and sell it go back to a cossy.

I got my old WRX calipers, etc in a box in the garage. Also gonna have some removed StopTech calipers soon. The discs for them are shagged though.
And the calipers need the paint redoing.

O.k finally got sorted and now my scooby is wearing some 4pots so hopefully it will stop now. Big thanks to Stockcar top guy and will be using you again And sorry for all the ranting just get a bit worked up at times
