Binding brakes
Symptoms: mpg dropping, dust increasing, car won't roll down minor inclines.
All wheels are equally difficult to turn when jacked up, they can be turned by hand but only just. This presumably means it is a master cylinder problem?? Assuming a reasonable, but still amateur, mechanical nous is there anything I can do to try and diagnose and better still fix the problem?

The rear wheels will be harder to turn as they have an LSD on the rear and a vicsous diff in the centre , the front axle has an open diff so should be easier to turn , if you rock the wheels side to side when its jacked up you should have a better idea if the brakes are binding , is a certain wheel dustier than the rest , if so thats probably the culprit.

Thanks Ian. There are 356mm discs on the front and your still-just-about-servicable drilled and grooved standard sized discs at the back. The driver's side rear has more dust and the disc is more worn than the near side but they were equally tough to spin last night (cold though). What should I notice when rocking the wheels side to side pray?
