Default removing calipers..

Howyas,

just wondering if anyone has any step by step guide on removing brake calipers as i wanna take mine off, clean them and paint them either red or silver, me cars silver so im not too sure???

Don't do it, as if you do, you'll have to bleed all the brakes.

The easiest way to paint brake calipers is to remove the pads, then clean with wire brush and then either brake cleaner or just good old detergent and a stiff brush. Leave to dry.

Paint with two coats of smooth Hammerite, (Smoothrite), which comes in s range of colours and can be mixed to give any shade you want

Leave about half an hour between coats of paint, it can be done in a long afternoon.

its easy enough right???? just dont wanna mess up me brakes, and is hammerite paint heat resistant???

Ya hammerite is perfect for brakes, painted mine over an year ago and they still perfect.

If you take them off, you have the added advantage of jet washing them clean, then you can strip them, paint them, rebuild with new seals, then if you wanted put them back on with braided lines. Bleeding is easy, with ABS or NON ABS.

is it possible to just paint them with the wheel off and blast them with a hair dryer to speed up drying???
