Best pads to use with 4 pots ?
I can't decide what pads to use with my 4 pots i've just bought.
I was thinking about EBC Red or maybe Yellow but heard a few bad stories about them !
I'm running close to 400bhp and I really want a pad that doesn't emit large amounts of dust like my current Ferodo DS2500's do.
Any suggestions ?

I had EBC Redstuff when I had the Subaru 4-pots and they are rubbish - lots of brake dust to the extent that after a few bouts of heavy braking from speed the steering wheel would shake as if the discs were warped. Now running the DS2500's with different calipers and I wouldn't buy them again either - they work well when pushed but the feel at the pedal is just too wooden and they are not very kind to the discs either. If you're enthusiastic with the brakes you're going to get brake dust whatever pads you use ( the only exception to this I've found were some aftermarket pads designed as OE replacements which were both dust free and braking free. Shortly after having to use the handbrake to stop myself ploughing into the back of someone I put them where they belonged, in the bin ).

Just fitted pagid 4-2-1's, they were recomended by Alyn at ASPerformance and i must say.....At last i have good brakes!!
The bite and stopping power have increased dramatically!
Give Alyn a ring, im sure he'll sort you out with something to your requirements.

I had Red Ceramics on my Scoob and they lasted half the time of the OE pads, were dirtier and only slightly better at stopping. Tried Ferodo DS2000 next and they were better, but noisy (squeal) and then Mintex 1155. At this point I learned Roadcraft driving and I hardly ever used my brakes any more, but the Mintex seemed OK but dusty.

I never thought it would be so hard to choose a decent set of pads
All I want is a set that work well, don't produce loads of dust and don't cost stupid money

I can supply you some Carbonne lorraine pads , only just started selling them after testing them for a while , they are the best pads I have ever tried and I have tried them all ,they impressed me so much that they are now fitted in my Type R rally car.
They work from cold , you will not fade them , they are fairly easy on discs , they dont even need bedding in , and they are £100 a set including delivery.
The only downside to them , is they can sqeek a little as your coming to a standstill.
They are used by the top end rally and race teams , If they are good enough for Sebastian Loeb , there good enough for us
I have these in stock for next day delivery
Cheers Ian

I have put a set of carbone lorraine RC6 in my road car when I did a trackday a few weeks ago.
Awsome brakes with no fade in a heavy road car around Lydden.
But did get a lot of metal / dust from them. This would have been ok if it had not rained and it turned to rust and stuck to the wheels and body of the car.
Im guessing the RC5 are a lot more road car freindly.
Do squeal a bit when coming to a stop but are a bit worse when going in reverse.
Steve.

Are these going on the standard Subaru 4-pots? Are the standard calipers any good then with different pads? A lot of people seem to slag them off and replace them and at the moment I can understand why!
