Default wrx ppp spongy brakes!!

my wrx ppp 05 has spongy brakes, they stop the car but really need to be pushed hard, i dont know if this is normal but the scooby dealer said it is. my mate said upgrade to braided hoses first and then change pads and discs. Any comments appriciated.

Subaru brakes aren't the typical on/off over servo'd brakes like most road cars but are more progressive hence a bit more effort.

If it's spongy then go for braided lines and decent fluid, give Alyn a bell at AS Performance - Rally Motorsport Specialists

Uprated brake fluid and EBC yellows on my 53WRX PPP, made it stop like my standard STi set up does now.

whats all this ppp, i didn't think this effected the brakes!

Are the brakes spongy or just not very good?
If youve got more power as everyone knows you have a ppp fitted you might need to upgrade the brakes aswell, pads, discs or both.

If there just spongy you might have another problem.

Braided hoses will give you a much firmer pedal feel. Worth trying that though nothing to stop you upgrading disks and pads as well.

Got similar issue with mine, I am used to it now but when my dad drove the car he mentioned the brakes need to be pushed hard to stop it. EVO had similar issue (take a look at their long term test on WRX wagon: Subaru Impreza WRX | Long Term Tests | Car Reviews | evo) and after changing the pads the problem was solved.
