Usually this way but depends on the the actual 'vanes' in the vents between the 2 disc surfaces. If they are straight vanes then it doesn't matter really but some are designed to face a certain way to aid cooling, usually have a sticker on each disc telling you left and right.

I can help...

just not sure how to explain properly without being able to show u in person. the grooves should be facing in such a way that they would throw out dust etc. the wrong way is when they look like they would be scooping up air when spining. can you make any sense of my explanation? ...lol

the picture above illustrates this perfectly. if they were the other way round air would be flowing down the groove towards the centre instead of away from it.

as Richie sats they only matter if the vane inside is actually handed.................

a lot of AP discs (and a couple of others) are fitted correctly facing the oppostite way to pic above!!

It depends if the discs have straight or curved viens in the centre of the discs , AP discs have curved viens so they machine there grooves the opposite way , I had some discs from them not so long ago which had the grooves going the same way as the vents ,

I mark my discs to run as the pic homer put up , this way any dust or debris get drawn to the outside of the discs rather than dragging it towards the bells.

the bottom line is that you need to adhere to the suppliers fitting dirctions for that particular disc................

Forget the grooves on the face of the disc they can go either way, fit the curved ducts thro the middle of the disc like this.

- If the supplier's instructions elude to the need to throw dirt/water/heat out and away from the disc then fit this way...

- If the instructions elude to having to have constant airflow to the grooves to aid cooling, then fit this way round...
