Default Brake advice needed

I have a 06 plate STI Prodrive and i can honestly say that the brakes are crap, its been back to the dealer for a fluid change and i have fitted EBC yellow stuff pads.
What discs and pads would really improve my braking i am looking at the EBC discs front and rear but want some advise first.
Thankyou
Robbie

is it before or after you fitted the yellow pads??

personaly you'd be better off with a Performance Friction / Ferodo / Pagid pad material.................

the disc on its own isn't going to improve the friction ability to a great degree

VM1: Describe 'poor'. Fade? Bite? Judder?

Dunx: Get them on ...you had them for ages

throw those useless yellow pieces of s*** as far away as you can.pf / pagid or hawk pads are far far better.

Yes it sounds like the pads , I have never been a fan of EBC pads , Mintex M1155 are good these are £110 a set , but can be squeely around town , Ferodo DS2500 at £150 a set , Pagid Blues or Orange at £165 a set , Performance friction or even the Carbotech's , these are very popular with the EVO guys.

We can supply any of the above pads

We also offer 2 different types of discs , either a one piece grooved disc for £225 a pair , or we have an offer on through january for our 2 piece discs and bells , these are £295 a pair all our discs come with a 12 month guarantee against warping even if you do track days.

Give me a ring on 01656 723060 or email me on ian@godspeedbrakes.co.uk if you want any further info.

I wont be thre today though as I am at the Autosport show all day.

Cheers Ian

yellow pads are IIRC for race use only and need to be fully warmed to work well.I used the red stuff pads for a while and they were very good when warm but still suffered with lack of bite at low speed, but not as bad as those scary yellow stuff pads.
I now use DS2500's on the rears and red dot on the front.

years ago I had a honda civic vti, brakes were standard i.e ****e! so got ebc front discs(turbo grooved). they practically never faded, even with just standard pads, and that was with frequent heavy use braking from over 100(although rears did go on fire with left foot braking, bt they were still standard) lol anyway hated the car so sold it after a few weeks...recently bought the sub which I love, and brakes are also terrible as they are standard(98 turbo terzo). gettin the ebc turbo grooved discs all round but with the addition of redstuff pads this time so I fully expect them to be amazin! the sub is a hell of a lot quicker than civic as its chipped to bout same power as a standard 98 sti...but even so...they should still be great. Would recommend EBC 100%.

Ozzy Ferodo DS 2500 front and rear, I did the fronts first....

Then noticed my rears were very tired (37,000) so fitted the rears, and this improved the brakes a bit more !

DunxC

P.S. a bit dusty and better once warmed-up, but o.k. cold ! IMHO

Hi Ian

I'm interested in the Carbotech pads and have checked out the array of different compounds on their website. Which ones do you stock/recommend, etc., bearing in mind I like/need! hard, effective braking and am not worried about excess dust?

Many thanks

John
