Default friendly tyre wrench for Rota GRA Tarmac II's

I put my Rotas on with the car's standard tyre wrench and had them torqued up at local tyre place. It is a very narrow fit though and difficult not to scratch around the holes. I don't do much myself apart from rotate wheels and do brake pads so don't need a load of gear. Can anyone recommend somewhere to buy a tyre wrench which has a narrower head or perhaps I should just get myself a socket set/torque wrench for reasonable money?
The holes for the nuts just seem very tight on the Rotas so I reckon others must have come across this problem. If its a torque wrench or socket the head has to be narrower than usual ones.

I got a socket specifically for alloy wheels from halfords with a plastic cover on it that protects the wheels from any marks, think it was under a tenner

Masking tape or insulation tape presumably do the job. As would self amalgamating rubber tape.

Or use nuts that have a hexagonal recess rather than a hexagonal profile.
