the lower the ET number the further out the wheel sticks from the hub...........
std Imprza's are around the ET53-49 mark, adding 20mm or so to that i suspect would see problems with the tyre fouling the wheel arch lip, particuarly at the back.........

I am not sure but I think it is the other way round. If it was 30 they would not clear your calipers. If for example they were 70 they would add width and would hit the lip of the arch. I am probably wrong! I have 45 offset and they only just clear the caliper my original wheels I think are 52 offset and cleared easily.

The box could be wrong, check the back of the wheel, usually it's embossed in there with the prefix ET.

You can measure it easily. Outside width of rim = W, Put a straight edge across the rim and measure the depth from the rim to the hub face = D.

Offset will be D - W/2

For example if rim 200mm wide and depth is 150mm then offset is 150 - 200/2 = 50mm. Negative values are possible and would have the wheel sticking out a long way from the hub.
