Default Colour match for gold wheels?

My alloys require a little touch up with some gold paint, I have been using some modeling paint, perfect colour match but it does'nt last, through the heat and washing the wheels too.
Had a look in Halfords at their paints but they didn't really have mant golds!.

Has anyone found a colour that is a match?. The wheels are from a 05 model Impreza STI

Your first enquiry should be to go to a Subaru main dealer to see if there's an official Subaru paint code for the wheels' gold colour (it's the only way for a perfect match)... Would've thought there'd be one(?). Then order the paint through their parts dept.

...Found out that a standard Subaru gold paint is Standox waterbased Subaru gold. This is the colour used on the STi 5 and 6 16" 5-spokes (the ones with the little triangular recesses at the end of the spokes).

Problem is, it's £100 per litre!!!

I'll pop in the dealers and see what they got. Thanks a lot Joz.

If you cant find the exact match go to halfrauds and get a gold colour that is slightly lighter and it will darken slightly over time
