Default Brakes on My98 uk 2000

Was having a look at these today on my car and i think they are 4port? If im wrong please let me know...

Now what i want to know is will changing them to BREMBO callipers from a STi7/8 make my car stop any better as i think these are also 4port?

Are the disk also bigger or are they the same size as what i already have on my car?

Please clear this all up for me before i go spending £500 on a set of BREMBO callipers, disks and pads when i may not need them or there is a better way of getting a bit more stopping power without spending too much money!

One other thing... What do people think about these maybe...

Scoobyparts Ltd GODSPEED 335mm BRAKE CONVERSION KIT

Please help

If your calipers have the word subaru on the side of them , then they are the 4 pot calipers , they use a 294mm disc.
The gold Brembo STi discs and calipers will work much better as they use a 326mm disc , if you get the discs from an STi 7/8 , the discs will not fit straight on as the wheels stud pattern is different to your car , but it will only mean having to have the discs redrilled with a stud pattern the same as yours , apart from that the fronts will bolt straight on. But you have to sure your wheels will clear , you need 17" wheels , but also with the right spoke clearance , not all whall will fit over these

The 335mm kit we make will then be better than the Brembo's , bigger discs will always mean better stopping power , and these discs are also thicker , thicker discs will take more heat. We also use a larger than standard pad in this kit.

Hope this helps
Cheers Ian

The discs bolt straight on too if there before 05 i think, after that they changed to a different pcd.
IMHO you cant beat the std fit quality, plus you can go to any scoob dealer for parts. The same cant be said for other kits your stuck with the supplier for replacement parts, not good if you get poor service!!

only the 05> STi (technically an N11) has the greater PCD, prior to this a straight fit, although you have to have the correct spoke clearance/design to clear them as they are a very bulky caliper
also note that if used aggressively they have a very poor ability to rid themselves of heat, and in these scenarios the only effective mod we have found is the Performance Friction disc kits................
