Unhappy

I usually keep my wheels clean and spend a bit extra time making sure the wheels are polished to limit corrosion but in the last 2/3 weeks (weather has been really bad) there has been a large build up of rust on the wheels and paint work. The paint wasn't noticeable at first (my car is an RB5) until I was polishing it - the paint felt rough so I thought it needed waxing - and the cloth started to look rust coloured. The wheels have been a real pain to clean with a large build up (only over a few weeks) of rust particles on the leading edges of the spokes. I presume this is material from the disks as I use EBC Green pads (?). There is also a noticeable lip on the disks (done about 6000 miles on them).
I would like to know if anyone has experienced the same issue and found a solution or a way to limit the damage? Particularly peed off 'cos I've recently had all the wheels refurbished (powder coated)!
Cheers

That sounds like the pads are eating away at the discs, the resultant "mess" is the hot iron particles embedding themselves in the surrounding paint and wheels, then going rusty.

EBC greens aren't that agressive so shouldn't be the cause?

Thanks, Mike. I can't understand it myself BUT the disks do have a noticeable lip on the inside and outside edges so the disk material must be very soft (EBC Greens are supposed to be a soft pad?).

Iain , If you remember when you had the kit from me I said that the pad material did not look like EBC material , The pad material was black not a light colour the EBC greens should be , They reminded me of Ferodo's , I wonder if they were DS3000 repainted by EBC ?? this would explain the mess they are making , Get in touch with EBC and see what they have to say about it , I have to say I have never had a complaint about my discs in this way before .Cheers , Ian

Thanks, Ian. I have just fitted EBC Reds as I was getting brake fade occasionally and the Greens are fairly worn - done about 6000 miles on the greens and there is about 3-4mm left on the pad, is this about right? I did ask EBC about the compound of the Greens but they assured me they are the pukka compound! What pads do you mostly supply with the Bremo conversion kit?
Oh, I still haven't recieved my 'invoice', can you send it please?
