Default RACMSA List 1A tyre choice for sprinting

I am looking at 16 inch tyre option off the RACMSA List 1A.
I have tried various but think I need something soft tread with a stiff tyre casing.

Would anyone like to offer an opinion please?

What experiences have you seasoned 'hill climbers' had?

Thanks

John

Probably not wholly applicable but amongst the Caterham hillclimb crowd (small light car, excess of power over grip) the list 1A tyre of choice for this week is the Scudo Stunner.

For the Scoobie (big heavy car, excess of grip over power) it may not be and may not even be available in these sizes. But worth a few phone calls.

Whereabouts are you sprinting, John?

Have you tried Marangoni Zeta Linea, out of interest?

And what sizes have you tried? I've run 205/50 and 195/600 (slick) previously, but am pondering 225/45 for extra grip or maybe 215/40 or 205/45 for lower gearing.

Andy

I am at MIRA and Llandow next weekend.

I used Stunners last week at Llandow. Trouble is the side walls seem too soft.

I am fitting some different suspension bits this weekend and wanted to take some different tyres too. Car is too heavy for the Stunners perhaps on a dry day, but they seem to be a good wet weather tyre.

Am using GSD3 Eagle in Roadgoing, they seem pretty good wet or dry.
