Default brake fading...

i am a regular track junkie... and i have been having severe brake fading problem... i am use high temp brake pads... endless 0-800 degress.. and dot 4 brake fluid... i've skim the disc a couple fo times...

is it because of the disc being thin...and not able to dissipate the heat.... or there is air in the brake hose... but to comfirm... when i checked my fluid was not boiling..

what kind of brake fade is it?

- does the pedal remain solid but not work
- does the pedal travel a lot further
- does the pedal go all spongey

interesting article here on brake fade:

Brake Performance Tips

braided hoses often help keep the pdeal firm as the std hoses expand a lot under pressure and heat.

What track days do you do?

Also to note, what kind of cooling have you got to the brakes?, how many laps are you doing before having to pit in? what kind of braking style do you own...hard and late....trailbraking? etc.

A hell of a lot is asked from within a Brake Pad on a road car on trackdays, especially open pit lane ones.

the brake actually tavel futher than expected and no matter how hard i depress the pedal brake force is still constant and not increase in braking power... i already have braided hose... however i have no direct cooling to the brake..

i use to be able to do 10 laps with no brake fade.. but when i changed my brake fluid and skimp the disc... this problem occurred... my braking style varies depending on circumstances...

what car is it mafia_boy?

I am running a group buy on the PF discs and pads that I use - was able to do 20 laps full bore without any fade or brake issues with these.
