Pads?
Hiya all,
My pads on my WRX are about 50% worn - claimed by the dealer when it had a service, would you recommend I change them now, or wait a few more months?
Thanks.
Mark.

Mark,
This is my take on your predicament...
If you had half a pint of lager left, would you chuck it away and buy another..? Nope, but you would start thinking about going back to the bar when you've got about a quarter left tho...

I was told last week I had about 1000 miles left on the front and about 1500 miles left on the back.
So thats another 6 weeks wear left then.

Funny thing, a dealer saying pads being replaced whilst it's in for a service. I'm just surprised they didn't throw in new discs at £300 quid or whatever the rip-off price they charge is

No, no snapping noise. The wear indicators do what is implied in their name, i.e. indicate that the pads are worn and are due for replacement. They do this when there is still plenty of life left in the pads, therefore giving plenty of warning and time to organise getting them changed.

Thanks very much for the advice.
They also mentioned that I have a slight lip on both front discs too.
When you get the service done, there is an advice section - you don't have to do it! So I will hang on a bit, save some money and use it towards my PPP on Saturday.
Cheers again.
