Question

Has anybody managed to fit AP 6 pots under a set of Super Leggera 17 x 7 wheels ? I've checked the caliper profile against the wheel using AP's PDF profiling sheet but it seems there is not much of a gap between the spokes and the caliper.

By the way my car is a 95 WRX

I've used the APR profiling sheet and found it to be within 1mm or so. You really need 3mm minimum clearance because the wheels move on the bearings under hard cornering. I think APR recommend 5mm.

Muncher,

I had to use spacers with my superleggerras to accommodate the Godspeed 335mm discs with my standard MY00 calipers. At least 2mms if not 3mms were required so I would be very surprised if you got away without spacers with the AP 6 pots depending of course on the size of your disc. Sorry I cant remember the offset but the same kit fits under the prodrive wheels without the need for spacers.

After a bit of research today on the web I've seen Super Leggera's for sale (17 x 7) for scoobies with an offset of ET53. This sounds about right.

I guess I'm going to have to take another measurement with the AP 'profiler' to find out exactly what the current clearance is. On the profiler it recommends a clearance of 4mm minimum. So I would (as Jerome says) have to go for some 2mm or 3mm spacers to get the required clearance.

I'm not entirely sure however how much of an effect a 2mm or 3mm spacer is going to affect the load on the wheel bearing or other handling issues ?

Giles.
