Default Rusty Nuts - Help

I am new to the forum so this may have been discussed before. Recently I purchased a demonstrator sti it is only 6 months old but the locking wheel nuts are covered in rust as are the 'plates' between the other nuts and the alloy wheel. Having raised this with the dealership they said it was a standard problem on all Imprezas and were surprised I hadn't noticed it on my older model I part exchanged. They said Subaru wouldn't accept any responsibilty and it was tough basically.

Is this correct and if so why do they continue to use such a bad product? What are the solutions, I guess not many people want to drive around in a nice Subaru with 'rusty nuts'? Is there an upgrade or do I need to 'grease' them up?

Just cover the threads in copperite grease mate. That will stop rust forming on the threads. As for the head of the nut, give it a clean and put a light coat of the grease on. That should sort it.
