Unhappy Wagon Wheels

Can anyone recommend a set of 18" rims to fit a FY04 Wagon with Prodrive springs please ?

I tried a set of PFF7s with Goodyear F1s but the tyres touch the wheel arches when under load (heading for the 'for sale' section soon).

The fact that the springs lower the ride height and that wagons don't have the splayed wheel arches like the saloon doesn't seem to be a good combination.

Any advice based on similar experience would be appreciated.

Cheers, Ian.

Default Prodrive P-WRC1s?

Prodrive's web site lists the PFF7s as for 4 door models only, so presumably they'd rub even without lowering. Bit of a pain since i have the same set up as you, and was hoping to put some reasonably priced PFF7 replicas on them.

On the other hand, the prodrive P-WRC1s with the ET53 fitting are listed as for all Impreza models except STi, so presumably would fit the standard wagon without rubbing. However, don't know whether they'd fit after the lowering kit, and it's an expensive wheel to try on the off chance!

Default Subaru web site

Just noticed that the alloy wheels section on subaru's web site has started listing applicable models against each of the wheels, distinguishing between the saloon and the wagon. The 18" wagon wheels (!) are the P-WRC1 @ £250 per without tyres, or a Gold 11 spoke design @ £194 per.

Ian

The P-WRC1 is a 7.5x18" ET53 and will fit the 5door even with our spring kit and still give tyre clearance. They can get quite close though with some 225/40 tyres that have huge kerbing ribs like the Yokohamas.

Regards

Mike

Cheers Mike, that's really helpful. Couple of subsidiary questions if you don't mind. Does the deeper offset, which I guess pulls the wheel in closer to the centre line, constrain what brake modifications you can fit? E.g., will your 330mm front disc upgrade fit okay? And do you know if the Proxes T1Rs have a problematically large kerbing ring?

Thanks in advance

Dai
