OZ Super Leggera (17 x 8 or 17 x 7) ?
#1
Hello all,
I've just bought a set of Oz Super Leggera wheels for my 95WRX. The problem is that they seem to be a little too wide (17 x 8) for my scooby. I get a fair amount of arch contact when doing anything but light cornering. I'm sure I should have been given 17 x 7 sized rims, would this be correct ?
On top of this my scoob will probably fail it's MOT due soon :-( because the wheels slightly protrude out of the arches.
The whole point of getting the wheels is so I can stick some AP 6 pots on underneath.

Muncher,
I am no expert but my Superleggerras are 17'x7' with 215/45/17 SO2s and the rub the edge of the rear wheel arch under heavy cornering. You can remove the black plastic strip if it is too frequent. If the 7's rub, the 8' must be a big problem with heavy wear signs evident on the tyre? So IMHO, you've got the wrong width wheels M8!
Hope this helps.
Jerome
ps I had to have spacers fitted to accommodate the 335mm Godspeed brake kit upgrade so I would expect your AP 6 pots may be tight under there.

They must be 17 x 8's, there's acre's of room for the AP's.
If I look directly down over the front arch the wheels are showing proud by almost an inch against the bodywork. I've waited almost 3 months for these wheels to arrive and they are the wrong size !!!
The tyres are 215/40R17 and the arch is rubbing almost on the top of the wheel. I'll take the car back to the garage tomorrow and see what they can do about changing the rims. I've still got to get the AP brakes/Leda suspension sorted out so I can take it on the track for some fun.
