Default Help fitting new discs/brakes

I am fitting new ebc grooved discs and redstuff pads to my 02 bugeye but i noticed that the bit of metal behind where the disc goes(dont know what you call it backplate maybe?) is really rusty and crap looking do i need to replace these first? I dont want to put my shiny new discs on there as i think it would ruin the look. Also is my local budget ok to fit these as theres alot of instructions with them and things to stick on the back of the pads.

Hope someone can help with this cheers.

If it's the thin piece of shaped metal you're referring to, it's a dust shield, and can be removed if you wish, although there is slightly more chance of getting a stone in the disc without them, they could be cleaned up and painted if you prefer.......

The sticky bit's on the pads are just anti-squel thingys, i never use them, but they are provided for a reason.

Anyone should be able to fit the discs and pads, even you if you can get a wheel off......
