Smile ABS activates too early sometimes, STi 02

I'll be driving along at say, 40mph, put my foot on the brake pedal moderately, and for a second or 2 feel like the brakes are not applying.(Like i'm going to hit the car in front!) I'm certain it's the ABS kicking in too early. I'll then brake a few minutes later and feel an instant, sharp response. Any ideas? Is it the ABS activating, and if so, is there a cure? Thanks in advance for your answers!

ABS causes noise and pedal vibration, if you're not getting noises like this then its more likely a pad problem. I cleaned mine (MT03 STi/DS2500) properly a few months ago and the pads were jammed in and took a fair bit of force to remove. Since cleaning up and copper greasing in all the right places they work a lot better.

I'd suggest giving them a good clean up.

Cheers, Diccy.
