Wider tyres on WRX rims
I've a set of standard 7" WRX rims normally fitted with 215/45 tyres, have a set of 225/45 tyres which I'd like to fit. I know the tyres will physically fit on the rims and a few S'netters have done this before, so are there any potential issues apart from checking clearance and the speedo being slightly out?

Hi the only problems that will arise are checking clearance and your speedo WILL be out as you have said.
A 225 tyre is a wide tyre to put on a 7" rim. The tyre will not sit flush with the outside of the rim as it is wide, it will balloon and possibly affect handling slightly.

As mentioned before 215 would be the ideal choice, but you should have no safety issues with a 225
