Default MY04 WRX Excessive Tyre Noise

Can anyone recommend a set of replacement tyres for MY04 WRX 5dr. My rears are the original Bridgestone RE050s which are on about 30k and the fronts are RE011s on about 9k.

They've both got about 4mm left but I've noticed recently (last 2-3k) that tyre noise (at least that what I think it is) has become unbearable.

I've tried increasing the pressures on the rears to about 35psi with no effect and put loads of Dynamat Xtreme on the boot floor and behind the trim round the rear wheel arches.

Can aynone recommend a set of quiet tyres?

Marangoni Zeta Linea are very quiet and smooth running tyres, got 18" on an 05 STi, very happy indeed with them

Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3's are extremely quiet and very comfortable (much quieter than the RE050's I had) but I've got a sneaking suspicion that all tyres get noisier as the tread depth gets lower!

Thanks for the advice, Ur probably right about the tread depth as it's become very noisy recently adn I'm doing 75 miles a day. The RE011s on the front are very grippy though but have worn much quicker than the RE050s.

The Zeta Linea are a very similar tread pattern to the GSD3's so it looks like that pattern type is naturaly quiet.

Try rotating front to rear about every 2500 miles, also you could do with the same tyre front and rear really...

Was thinking of rotating although my fronts took about 1500 miles before I got any grip! Most of this was motorway though.

Will buy a set of 4 next time as this seems the consensus.
