Poorer (Than Usual) Braking

Poorer (Than Usual) Braking
I'm still running the original two pots on my MY98 and they are next to useless, but have come to live with them. However, over the past few days they have become a lot worse. The pedal travel seems about the same and there is no squealing so I reckon the pads are going.
I know I should upgrade to four pots, but I'll probably be flogging it in December, so am reluctant to fit more mods.
Can anyone tell me, firstly, the best way to check pad condition, and secondly, the recommended replacement pads?
The motor is due a service so I would like to organise the pads first.

depends on your budget...............you can get the 2pots to work to a point normally use either a O.E.+ pad (for value for money) or the Ferodo ds2500 is a good option with this caliper
as to checking you will probably be able to see thro' the wheel, does the disc have any ridges, odd wear patterns, etc?? if you look at the caliper and pads you can probs see the material left??
its hard to suggest a problem or soloution from your post................hope this helps

Had a good look at the brakes yesterday. The discs are fine, thank Dog.
Going to do a cost/benefit analysis on the Ferrodo's now.
