front disc removal

Default front disc removal

going to change front discs & pads next week
how easy/difficult is it to remove old discs
anything i need to look out for.any special tools required
have changed pads in the past but never discs

thanks for any info

Can't remember if the disks have a screw in them or not. If they do, it's only a retainer. If you are competent at pad replacement then you will have no problem working out disk removal. Once you get it in bits, it will seem very straight forward

On a classic, no screw. 2 large 17mm? bolts to remove caliper, disc SHOULD just knock off with wooden or rubber mallet, mine did, dead easy.
Rember to tie or wire caliper to spring to avoid strain on brake hose
