Have been told by my local tyre shop that they're now making a T1-R which has an asymetrical tread patern rather than Directional.
Is this true?
If so its a bugger cause i want two new T1-S's not a full set, and obviously the new Asymetrical pattern tyre isnt compatible with the directional pattern ones.

Hope this will help. The T1-S has been replaced however you can still purchase them. As for beeing told the T1R is not directional ytre i guess tht the place you went to doesn't do many Toyos as the the TR-1 is directional like the T1-S. If you are after a pair there are a few companys round by me who can get them within a couple of days.
Cheers!
The place used to do a hell of a lot of Toyo's, to a lot of people on here too. It seems now they're more interested in selling Hankooks, especially as they seem to have rebranded their whole establishment with Hankook signs and posters etc. Hhhmmmm, go figure i guess!

Been looking on the net and ringing round for tyre prices today and they all quote for the t1s'. They are supposed to be fading them out but still seem to be readily available

Just had some T1-Rs fitted, and now they're worn in, I think they're better than the outgoing T1Ss that I had before. Bit more responsive to steering input. No idea about wear rates yet as they've only been on for about 300 miles. There's supposed to be less road noise as well, but since I can't usually hear the road over the sound of the exhaust...

Did you get 'em? I had some fitted yesterday 215/45-17s, searched the net and phoned local garages, cheaper on the net to buy, certainly from companies up north ( I live in Dorset) but with carriage and fitting down here work out more, found a local company which done them for £346, fairly happy.
