Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Got a punture in one of my tyres on a 11 month old STI8, took the wheel to my local tyre centre, and they couldn't break the back "bead" on the wheel. They said it was because the bead is too deep! wheels are standard STI 17" i'm going to ring Subaru for advice on Monday, but wondered if anyone else has had a simlar experience?

 

My local tyre fitting centre hate these wheels, even with the latest tyre fitting machines these wheels are very difficult to get the tyres off. I have had 2 sets of tyres on my STI7 now, and have only found 1 tyre fitter who hasn't scratched the wheels when fixing a puncture or fitting new tyres. I understand that there isn't enough dish in the wheel to allow them to get the tyre over the rim.

 

Never had any bother with my local one guy outfit.
