What model of Technomag wheels are they? I had some of the Sport (six spoke) ones and they weren't particularly light and they definitelty weren't as strong as magnesium wheels. I bent 2 across the spokes, on the road without hitting anything!

I know of only one Company in England who make mag alloy wheels, Tech Del (remember the famous Minilite wheels?).
Magnesium as a metal is not a very good material, bit unstable and very prone to cracking, usually induced by stress and corrosion (or both).
Alloyed with aluminium, hence 'magalloys' as the 'new' alloy wheels were once known, enhances the performance as strength/Kg.
Porsche wheels made by Fuch in Germany were forged (not cast) alloys and were brilliant as even 10J x 15 race wheels on RSR's etc.Perfect for the road too!

When the alloy is cast though, the benefits diminish i think, so not much gained.

You might find some good info if you call Dave Kimberly at Demon Tweeks, he knows his stuff.

Anyway, hope this helps a bit..
